In rural Toscany everybody has its own addresses. Not the average shops, but farmers who make their own olive oil, wine, pecorino and sausages. They sell it in the barn or stable. No pay-desks here, an old cigar crate or apron will do. Cookbook writer Tessa Kiros, known for her books like Twelve and Falling Cloudberries, takes us to her hidden culinary addresses in and around her home at Casola d’Elsa, in between Siena en Firenze. A travel full of colors, fragrances and rich taste. Text: Margriet de Groot
